Musamba is both a sub-location and small village located close to Musamba River and Khalaba River in Western Kenya. It is both a shopping center as well as a market place, that came into existence in the 1930s. Musamba is known for its Market days on Mondays and Thursdays. According to recent surveys, the Musamba location has a population of about 2,500 people.
Musamba started as a small market in the 1930s by the then-chief of the location, Atanas Wamache Kong'ani. Atanas was a sub-chief in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.
